New June

Noelle Blizzard’s icing handiwork is instantly recognizable, even in Philadelphia’s booming bakery scene: Her cakes are bold, colorful, and ornately textured, lined on all sides by ruffles, scrolls, garlands, and piping upon piping upon piping. So vintage they feel otherworldly, so classic they're audacious. Still, the beauty is not buttercream-deep notes food reporter Jenn Ladd: “While the cakes look like technicolored Victorian-era dreams on the outside, they’re modern on the inside, in flavors like cardamom pistachio cream and olive oil-pumpkin chocolate chip.” Blizzard’s endlessly photogenic style made the leap from Instagram to brick-and-mortar when she opened New June in Brewerytown in 2024, and has earned local and national attention along the way. And yes, you can buy by the slice.
