Here’s what it’s like on Thanksgiving Day during the pandemic

How much does a city change when a pandemic takes hold? On Thanksgiving Day 2020, the Philadelphia region changed a lot.

The city had no parade. Mall stores and factory outlets that attracted crowds for early shopping last year didn’t open at all this year.

Inquirer photographers fanned out to compare this Thanksgiving to last year’s by replicating photographs made in 2019 from the same locations around the same time.
