Sterling's Donovan Casey will take a remarkable scoreless-innings streak into his senior season.

The junior right-hander pitched six shutout innings Thursday against Cherry Hill West in the semifinals of the Camden County Tournament.

Casey left the game with the score tied, 0-0.

CH West won 1-0 on Will Allen's walk-off HR in the bottom of the eighth.

Casey finished the season with an active streak of 41 scoreless innings.

"I pulled him aside after the game to tell him how impressed I was with him as a pitcher," CH West coach Dan McMaster said. "He's really one of the top arms in South Jersey. I don't care about Group 2 or whatever, he's legit."

Casey last allowed a run in a 4-3 loss to Haddon Heights on April 26. That was his only loss of the season.

Casey pitched one scoreless inning at the end of that Haddon Heights game.

His next five outings were shutout victories: 8-0 over Pitman, 11-0 over West Deptford, 10-0 over Haddonfield, 5-0 over Pemberton and 1-0 over Manchester.

He finished the season with a 7-1 record and six shutouts.

Sterling coach Chris Hoffman said Casey allowed one earned run all season.
