A source close to the situation, citing an MRI taken Friday, said Eagles rookie linebacker Joe Walker will miss the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Walker, a seventh-round pick from Oregon, was an exciting find for a team that lacked linebacking depth (and now REALLY lacks linebacking depth). He felt a pop in the knee while trying to make a tackle on the final play of the first half of the Eagles' 17-0 Thursday night preseason victory at Pittsburgh, on a kickoff that followed a field goal.

Corner Aaron Grymes suffered an AC sprain while making a spectacular interception late in the second quarter, the source said. Grymes, a Canadian Football League vet, might miss the final two preseason games.
