UPDATED 3X: Breaking News: Osama bin Laden is dead, according to multiple media sources

UPDATE #3X: The New York Times, CNN, and other media outlets are reporting that Osama bin Laden is dead and that the United States has the body.

In a development that -- at least right now -- seems truly bizarre, the White House announced at roughly 9:45 p.m. that President Obama would be giving a nationally televised speech at 10:30 -- and they didn't say what it would be about.

As Donald Trump would say, what the (bleep)?

Needless to say, the Twittersphere is going nuts over this sudden turn of events -- many noting the rich irony that Obama's speech would pre-empt the last half hour of Trump's NBC show. "The Celebrity Apprentice." Of course, the jokes will die down quickly if and when the subject matter turns serious. Libya, perhaps?

UPDATE: "National security," says CNN. We're hoping for the death or capture of bin Laden -- but that's probably too much to hope for.
