Officials from the Delaware County District Attorney's Office have identified the man found stuffed inside a Samsonite suitcase Thursday near Philadelphia International Airport.

A bystander found the body of Scott Stephen Bernheisel, 40, inside the luggage about 1:30 p.m. as he walked his dog on 2nd Street behind the Tinicum Township Industrial Park, according to Emily Harris, a spokeswoman for the D.A.'s Office.

Inside the luggage, Bernheisel's body was "pretty badly decomposed," indicating that it had been packed inside for several days, according to Harris.

The cause and manner of the Philadelphia resident's death are unclear, but authorities have deemed the death suspicious.

The investigation into the grisly discovery is ongoing, according to authorities.

Tipsters are asked to call 610-891-4703 or 610-521-3830.
