A 27-year-old off-duty Philadelphia Police officer is in critical but stable condition after he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle in Cheltenham, police said.
Cheltenham police said the officer was riding near Front Street and Dewey Road around 3 p.m. when a silver Buick Park Avenue crashed into his bike.
He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he remained in critical but stable condition around 5 p.m. He suffered several broken bones, including a broken pelvis and femur, and head trauma, cops said.
Police said the 68-year-old woman driving the Buick initially left the scene, but was tracked down about a block away and arrested shortly after the crash. She was in custody and awaiting charges around 5 p.m.
Cheltenham police said preliminarily, it does not appear that alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident, but that the cause remains under investigation.
