An NFL source close to the situation said Eagles corner Asante Samuel was not fined for his helmet-to-helmet hit on the Vikings' Sidney Rice Tuesday, because Samuel didn't "launch" himself into Rice. Rice had two feet down and possession of the ball, the source said, so he was only protected from "launching," not from any helmet contact. The source said there is a good chance in the offseason the rule will be amended to include actions such as Samuel's on Tuesday. Also, the Eagles called safety Jamar Adams up from their practice squad and released safety Jamar Wall.
