The Voice coach Adam Levine has offered to pay the funeral costs for South Jersey native Christina Grimmie, who was shot and killed in Orlando on Friday.

Levine also offered to take care of travel costs for the singer's mother to attend that funeral, according to her brother, Marcus Grimmie.

Grimmie's brother shared the news on Facebook Sunday night, writing that "words cannot express" his gratitude for Levine's offer.

"I found out this morning that Adam Levine personally called my mother and said he will pay for the funeral and her plane flight, and I was blown away," he wrote. "Words cannot describe…literally I have no words."

"This is yet another senseless act of extreme violence," Levine wrote. "I am left stunned and confused how these things can conceivably continue to happen in our world."

In addition to Levine's offer, Grimmie's family is receiving financial support through a GoFundMe page created on the day of the singer's death. Initially asking for $4,000, the page has raised more than $150,000 since it was posted.

"All I can say is thank you," Grimmie's brother wrote in his social media posting. "Christina will be missed and never ever forgotten."

Locally, Evesham Township, where Grimmie grew up, will host a vigil for the singer beginning at 8:45 p.m. on Monday night at 1004 Tuckerton Rd. in Marlton.
