Less than a week after his DUI arrest, Lamar Odom has checked himself into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center, reports People.
The embattled reality star and NBA free agent's alleged drug use and marriage issues generated public concern after an alarming TMZ report said Odom was missing, and his wife of nearly four years, Khloe Kardashian Odom, was worried that he was on a "drug binge" somewhere.
Though the NBA player's agent dispelled the report by saying that the athlete's whereabouts were in fact, known at the time, Odom was arrested later that week after he had failed to pass multiple field sobriety tests after being pulled over on a California highway. He later refused to take a chemical sobriety test, resulting in the suspension of his license for one year, according to California state law.
33-year-old Odom has admitted to using drugs in the past. The NBA player candidly shared about his marijuana use in 2003. Odom violated NBA drug policies on multiple occasions in 2001.
The Lakers, amid concerns over Odom's drug use, have allegedly offered the forward a spot on the team's roster, with the condition that he checks himself into rehab.
A court date is scheduled for Sept. 27, though Odom is not required to appear alongside his lawyers.
