Some Philly-art sceners might remember the glory days of Plastic Little, the mid-2000 'gallery rap' group that delivered catchy hip-hop tunes with a sense of humor. The last time this beloved local crew performed was in 2010 at Kung Fu Necktie. The night was full of feelings and memories, but ones that would fade with the band. But now, there's hope of a rare resurgence.
Plastic Little was originally comprised of Jayson Musson (PackofRats), Kurt Hunte (No Body's Child), Jon Folmar (Jon Thousand), Si Young Lee (DJ Si Young) and Michael Stern (SQUID). All have gone on to do their own respective gigs but the group's song "Miller Time" was sampled in producer Baauer's 2012 viral hit "Harlem Shake" and it definitly left fans, both new and old, wanting more.
