Twenty-five years after he starred as Valentine McKee, Philly's Kevin Bacon is working on  a TV reboot of  the sci-fi franchise "Tremors," reports Entertainment Weekly.

Before anyone gets too excited, this is a show that's so far only in development and is still being shopped to networks. Universal Cable Productions and Blumhouse Productions are involved and Andrew Miller will write the script. Bacon would star and be an executive producer.

It if it pans out, it would mean a return to television for Bacon, whose grisly Kevin Williamson drama "The Following" never developed into quite the hit Fox had anticipated.

Though he didn't appear in any of the sequels, EW reports that "earlier this year Bacon said he'd love to revisit the character.  'I'd love to do something else with 'Tremors'  and revisit the character 25 years later," he said. 'Part of what's great about that movie is there are next to no digital effects. The monsters are done with puppetry, and it's still off, funny and scary — it's a cool accomplishment.'"
