FBI Informant returns to stand in Fort Dix terror trial

Today, defense attorneys in the Fort Dix case are expected to continue their attempts to tear down the testimony of FBI informant

Besnik Bakalli

, who recorded hundreds of hours of conversations with the defendants but never once heard them mention an attack on the Army base.

The defense also could continue its attack on Bakalli’s unsavory past, which includes shooting a man in Albania who had threatened his sister.

Bakalli has been on the stand for three days in the case of five, foreign-born Muslim men accused of plotting a jihadist attack on Fort Dix.

Yesterday, the defense scoffed at the notion that the defendants were “training” for jihad during trips to a Poconos shooting range. In recordings heard in court yesterday, Bakalli was so concerned about the rowdy chaos at the range that he called his FBI handler to complain that it was “too dangerous.”
