Phila. man turns himself in for Dec. 10 Norristown murder

Shawn "T.O" Jacobs, an 18-year-old Philadelphia man wanted in the killing of Jamal Terry on Powell Street in Norristown Dec. 10 turned himself in to law-enforcement officials last night.

Jacobs surrendered to Montgomery County detectives in Norristown and was taken into custody without incident, said Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman.

Jacobs was being arraigned on murder, theft and related charges at 11 this morning before District Court Judge Margaret A. Hunsicker in Norristown. Ferman said she would ask that he be held without bail, which is routine in cases where a life sentence is possible.

Terry, a 22-year-old father of four who lived in Norristown, was gunned down during a robbery as he left a Chinese restaurant. Jacobs demanded money, and Terry handed over $30 and pleaded for his life, but Jacobs killed him anyway, court papers allege.

A second suspect, Stanley Howard, 20, of the 1300 block DeKalb Street in Norristown, was arrested Wednesday in the robbery and murder. He's being held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Lower Providence Township.
