Today’s warmth tomorrow would challenge record

Inquirer staff writer Peter Mucha reports:

Just two days ago, the high was 28, as recorded at Philadelphia International Airport.

By 2:30 this afternoon, the temperature had hit 65 — warmer than any day since mid-November.

That 65 would be warm enough to tie the record — if today was tomorrow, Friday or Saturday.

Dec. 11, Dec. 12 and Dec. 13 all have record highs of 65.

But today's record high is 71, set in 1966.

Normal for today is 46.

Highs through Sunday will be in the low to mid 40s, except for a mid-30s high on Saturday.

Tomorrow looks rainy, Friday has a chance of morning rain, and the weekend looks mostly sunny.
