If you're headed to downtown Philadephia today, might be an even better time than usual to take public transportation.

Activists, artists, architects and others so-inclined will be taking over lots of parking spaces and turning them into mini-parks. It's an attempt to show just how green a 170-square-foot space can be.

Some of these get really imaginative, and it's as fun as heck.

Parks will be created in Center City as well as in Manayunk, Southwest Philadelphia, Mount Airy, Northern Liberties, and University City.
