He is. He isn't. He is. He isn't. The confusion continues as Chris "Hamlet" Matthews continues to vacillate between staying at MSNBC, where he is host of Hardball, or leaving to fulfill his boyhood dream and run for U.S. Senate from his native Pennsylvania.
First, Mike Allen of Politico reported that MSNBC had reached an early long-term deal with Matthews that would KO Senate speculation, and that it would be announced soon. The cable network knocked that one down. But Matthews' brother, Jim, a Montgomery County commissioner, doesn't think a Senate race will happen.
