Darilyn V. Moyer, an assistant dean at Temple University's medical school, will begin a term as president-elect of the American College of Physicians next month.
Moyer, whose many titles include director of the internal medicine residency program and assistant dean for graduate medical education at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine, is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases. Her research interests include medical education, patient safety and HIV.
The Philadelphia-based American College of Physicians is the second-largest doctors' group in the country, after the American Medical Association. The college's Governance Committee selected Moyer in October to be president-elect for one year beginning in May and then president for the following year.
