Tough tactics to save libraries

Opponents of Mayor Nutter’s plan to close 11 libraries to help balance the budget will hold a press conference tomorrow announcing their plans to file a class action lawsuit to try and prevent the closures.

The plaintiffs, who have not yet been identified, will have some potent political support. Labor leaders, members of the Black Clergy of Philadelphia and officers of the Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia are scheduled to attend the press conference.

The press conference begins at 2:30 p.m., at the Logan Branch of the Free Library at 1333 Wagner Avenue.
