The Eagles officially signed Ryan Mathews to a three-year deal, adding intrigue to DeMarco Murray's visit to Philadelphia.

Mathews, 27, has twice eclipsed 1,000 yards and only once played 16 games. The injury-prone running back was a Pro Bowler in 2011.

The Eagles now have Mathews, Darren Sproles, Kejon Barner, and Matthew Tucker under contract. Chris Polk is a restricted free agent.

And then, of course, Murray, who is expected to sign also. It makes for a crowded backfield.

More to come...
