Expect Eagles to rest starters

With a straight face, Andy Reid said that a decision has not yet been made as to whether he is starting his regulars on Sunday against the Cowboys.

But it needn't be said -- the Eagles will play the majority of their reserves in a meaningless season finale. The Eagles have the No. 3 seed in the playoffs locked up and will fill face either the Packers, Giants or Buccaneers on Jan. 8 or 9.

Reid said that he expects the NFL to take into consideration their short work week when doling out games dates. So the odds would appear in favor of the Eagles playing on Sunday as opposed to Saturday.

As for Sunday's game at the Linc, Kevin Kolb will start at quarterback as Michael Vick earns a needed day off to rest his bruised quadriceps. Vick is officially listed as questionable, but he won't play. Also listed as questionable are wide receiver DeSean Jackson (foot), cornerback Asante Samuel (knee), tackle Winston Justice (knee) and defensive tackle Trevor Laws (shoulder).

They above injured won't see the field, as won't most of the Eagles starters. That means reserves and rookies, in most cases, will get their first glimpse of extended playing time in the NFL.

Enjoy!

And Happy New Year!
