Soup from scratch not as daunting as it seemed
Sacred Heart students Angel Daniels, Deanna Fooks-Benbow, Tanasha Lopez, and Lyric Samuels were excited to be making Chicken Tortilla Soup this week. They were familiar with most of the flavors, were not accustomed to making soup "from scratch" and were surprised at how easy it was. Their knife skills get better every week, and after a little prep work chopping the veggies, they put the pot on to simmer and whipped up the salsa. Since avocados were not a hit in the past, the girls put together a fresh mango salsa which was healthy, easy and satisfied their love of all things sweet.
