Yesterday, Ben wondered if timing really matters on the state budget. Well, whether it matters or not, tax collections are much lower than expected:

The Pennsylvania Revenue Department says general-fund revenue collections for May came in nearly $125 million below projections.

Year-to-date collections are running nearly 5 percent less than anticipated.

This means we will get even more of the revenue vs. cuts arguments that paralyzed the legislature last year.
