Game 30: Pettibone makes his third start
Coming off his first Major League win, Jonathan Pettibone makes his third start for the Phillies in tonight's second of a four-game set at Citizens Bank Park against the Florid Marlins.
Pettibone (1-0, 4.35 ERA) will be opposed by RHP Ricky Nolasco (2-2, 3.82). He is coming off last Saturday's 9-4 win over the New York Mets at Citi Field. Pettibone allowed seven hits and three runs in five innings, striking out four and walking two.
"I think each time I go out, my confidence builds," Pettibone said.
In Pettibone's first two starts he lasted a total of 10 1/3 innings, so the next step is to attempt to go deeper into the game.
The Phillies (13-16) are 3-1 this season against Miami (8-21) following Thursday's 7-2 victory.
Ben Revere, who sat out Thursday with a jammed finger, is back in the lineup at center for the Phillies. So is catcher Carlos Ruiz, who was given Thursday night off.
