It's one management professor's opinion, but Rohm & Haas Co. CEO Raj Gupta is one of the best CEOs of 2008,
The Wall Street Journal asked several respected profs who'd they pick as executives who did well in an awful year for most companies.
Steven Kaplan, of the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business, named Gupta, as well as McDonald's James Skinner and Valeant Pharmaceuticals' J. Michael Pearson.
Gupta gets props not only for Rohm & Haas' being the best-performing U.S. stock this year, but his 10 years at the helm, building the chemical maker and doubling its value.
