On a slippery, rain soaked field, Cherokee outran Rancocas Valley in a 30-10 win Saturday in the South Jersey Group 5 football final at Rowan University.
It was the Chiefs' second consecutive title.
Collin Wilson scored the decisive touchdown, a 67-yard run, with 10 minutes, 53 seconds to play.
It was his second big touchdown. The quarterback also broke free for a 50-yard score on his team's second play of the game.
RV (9-3), vying for its first title since 1987, was led by hard-running quarterback Collin Wilson. Wilson rushed for more than 100 yards, but it wasn't enough to get his offense going in the second half against the strong defense of Cherokee (9-3).
