In a slug- and error-fest Thursday at Everett Swanson Field, on the Glen Mills campus, Spring-Ford downed Conestoga, 22-11, for the PIAA District 1 Class AAAA baseball championship.
It was the Rams' first district crown since 2001 and third overall (also 1988).
Spring-Ford gained redemption for its 14-4 loss to North Penn in the 2008 final.
The Rams (22-4) totaled 17 hits. The Pioneers (18-4), hurt by 5 errors, finished with 13 safeties.
The 33 runs set a record for most runs scored in a District 1 big-school final.
Both teams advance to the state tourney, which kicks off Monday.
