Junior Gerald Owens ran 26 times for 206 yards and five TDs as West Deptford won its sixth SJ 2 title in 11 years with a 42-28 victory over Cedar Creek on Saturday afternoon at Rowan Unviersity.
Josh Cornelius (77) and Connor Smith (150) combined for another 227 rushing yards as West Deptford completed a perfect season with a 12-0 record.
The Eagles attempted one pass. It was incomplete.
Georgia Tech-bound QB Damon Mitchell ran 26 times for 186 yards and four TDs for Cedar Creek (10-2). But Mitchell was picked off four times, three in the end zone in the second half.
Mitchell was 14-for-23 passing for 203 and the four interceptions.
