A Dauphin County, Pa., man may be spending the holidays in the doghouse after he lied to his wife and then to police to cover up spending the night with another woman.
On Dec. 6, after his wife had reported him missing, Erik Shepler of Steelton told police he had been hit on the head after leaving a Front Street bar and had lost his ATM card and his memory, PennLive.com reports.
But police found video that captured Shepler with another woman in a Turkey Hill store purchasing cigarettes, hot dogs and buns, according to the story.
They also interviewed the woman, who said Shepler "picked her up at the bar and took her home, where he spent the night after indulging in more drinks," according to the story.
Surveillance video from the woman's apartment building confirmed her story.
Shepler has been charged with one count of making a false reports to law enforcement officers. No word on bail.
