The Eagles have officially unveiled the Color Rush jerseys they will wear in their Thursday Night Football game against the Giants later this season, and it appears the Birds will be back in black.
The uniforms are, in fact, nearly all black, and strongly resemble outfits the Eagles have worn in previous years. The team will break out the new jerseys for Thursday Night Football's week 16 game against the Giants on Dec. 22 at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Giants, fittingly, will wear all white for that game:
Each of the NFL's 32 teams will have Color Rush uniforms this year, though some teams won't be wearing them. The New York Jets, for example, were given all green uniforms, but won't wear them in this Thursday's game against the Buffalo Bills, who will be wearing all red. Instead, they'll don all-white facemasks in addition to their usual uniforms to avoid the problems colorblind viewers experienced in last year's game.
Eagles fans, for their part, didn't seem to respond too favorably to the new tops, with many pointing out how similar they are to previous years' iterations, or simply calling for more kelly green or silver:
