A celebrity ghost hunter and former Penn State student has been charged with theft after he allegedly did not return a rental car.
Ryan Buell, 34, of State College, was arrested on an active warrant on Sept. 18 in Florence County, S.C., his native state, according to 6ABC.
He has been charged with theft, receiving stolen property and other related crimes, according to public records.
According to the criminal affidavit, Buell failed to return a Kia Sportage he rented from a State College Hertz location by the Aug 1. due date.
As a courtesy, the manager extended the rental until Aug. 8 but found the credit card would not cover the charge. Buell failed to respond to calls, emails, letters and messages left on his Facebook account. Police visited the address he provided the car company and found Buell was not a resident. The car was not returned, according to the affidavit dated Sept. 14.
