CINCINNATI – Villanova senior Darryl Reynolds, the No. 2 rebounder and best post defender for the second-ranked Wildcats, will miss Saturday's game against No. 24 Xavier with a rib injury.

A team spokesman said the 6-foot-9 Reynolds, who played his high school ball at Lower Merion, is day-to-day. The Wildcats play again on Monday night at DePaul.

Reynolds has started all 25 games this season and averages 5.3 points and 5.5 rebounds. He leads the team in blocked shots with 23 and in offensive rebounds at 2.0 per game.

With Reynolds out, 6-foot-10 freshman Dylan Painter is likely to see playing time against the Musketeers in the matchup between the Big East's top two teams at the Cintas Center. Painter has played 48 minutes in 13 games this season, with a total of six points and 15 rebounds in those contests.

The team also announced that redshirt freshman Tim Delaney underwent another surgery on his left hip and will be out for the season. The 6-8 forward, who had surgeries on both hips last year, played in just seven games this season.
