Coming off a 39-point shutout win over Illinois, the Nittany Lions will play Northwestern at noon Saturday in Evanston. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Next Saturday's meeting will mark the first time the two football teams have played each other at Ryan Field since 2011. In that game, Penn State won 34-24, giving late coach Joe Paterno his 408th career victory. The win tied him with Eddie Robinson at the top of Division I coaches leaderboard for career wins. It put him in position to win one more game (against Illinois at home), and to secure himself as the sole leader, before his firing in November of that season.

Penn State has a 13-4 record against Northwestern, a 6-2 record for games played on Northwestern's home turf. In the Lions' homecoming game last September, Penn State lost to Northwestern 29-6.
