GALLOWAY, N.J. – So far, so good for Ben Simmons.

The first overall pick said he is adjusting well to the mental side of the NBA at the 76ers training camp at Stockton University.

"It's been good," Simmons said after Wednesday's practice. "I can definitely see the jump I've made from Day 1 just learning, talking and the communication of the game."

The 6-foot-10, 250-pound point forward said what he learned specifically from Day 1 to Day 2.

"Just a lot of communication," Simmons said. "It's different strategies or different calls, plays defensively and offensively."

His versatility had been on display the combined three training sessions the Sixers had on Tuesday and Wednesday.

A power forward by trade, Simmons also played the point guard, shooting guard and small forward positions.

Simmons averaged 10.8 points, 7.7 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 1.0 steal, but he also turned the ball over an average of 3.8 times in six summer league games in July.
