Anna Paquin of 'True Blood' on Nude Scenes and Kissing

Copy lede here.

True Blood returns to HBO Sunday at 9 p.m., bloodier than ever, but still not true. The made-up tale of psychic Sookie Stackhouse's sojourn in the world of vampires (and, this season, werewolves!) just may be sexier than it's ever been, too. And that's pretty darn sexy. Star Anna Paquin doesn't mind.

"I find the nude scenes to be a lot less stressful than just constantly being very skimpily clad," Paquin tells Self magazine in the July issue, on newstands, as they say, June 22. "I'm quite comfortable with being naked, but spending 18 hours a day wearing little tank tops that could fit a 2-year-old and shorts that barely cover my bum?"

"For me, that was an adjustment," says the Canadian-born, New Zealand-raised actress, still using Kiwi-isms despite having moved to the United States 12 years ago when she was 15. "If I had let the oh-God-my-body-is-going-to-be-on-display-all-the-time part of it mess with my head, it would've killed True Blood's chance of being something that made me really happy."

It makes millions of fans happy, too, Anna.

What it's like kissing a vampire? "Sharp, dangerous," Paquin says. Let us all hope that the stimulating side of that experience still attends her kissing of real-life boyfriend Stephen Moyer, who, everybody knows, is also her vampire boyfriend (among the missing as the Season Three curtain rises) on the show.
