Restaurant notes: Susanna Foo to market; Thai in Roxborough

The Main Line chef is fixing a takeout; homespun pad Thai on Ridge; NOLA tastes in in Queen Village.

  1. Susanna Foo, rolling along in Radnor these days, is fixing to open a dumpling/gourmet stand at the Lancaster County Farmers Market in Wayne. No timetable yet. You may recall that in 2007, before she closed her Walnut Street restaurant, Foo was supposed to open such a stand at the Comcast Center's marketplace Plans did not materialize.

  2. Roxborough no longer is Thai-deprived. Just checked out the three-week-old Tang Thai at Ridge Avenue and Leverington Street (6190 Ridge Ave., 215-621-6482). Completely home-spun menu from sweet, sweet first-time restaurateurs who tried valiently to cover up the black-and-white-tile look of the former Philaburger/Roxburger. The larb gai (a spicy chicken salad, $5.95) and curry dishes ($12.95) come highly recommended. Lunch and dinner Mondays-Saturdays, dinner daily. Here's the menu.

  3. Catahoula, the Louisiana-themer replacing Saute at 775 S. Front St. in Queen Village, has opened.

  4. The Darling's location at 20th and Pine Streets has closed with the expiration of the lease; this was the cheesecake specialist's first spot. Owner Harry Arnold says they'll concentrate on their shop at 21st and Spring Streets and the diner in Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties.
