This just in:

Nearly two years in the making, Goose Island Brewhouse says it will open Friday, March 2 in Fishtown, where it will take over a former dry-ice plant at 1002 Canal St., across from Revolutions, Punch Line, Philadelphia Distilling, and Mad Rex in that entertainment complex just off Delaware Avenue.

Goose Island traces its roots to Chicago. Beer behemoth A-B InBev bought Goose Island several years ago and in 2016 bought its brewpub.

Designer 555 International is also out of Chicago, while chef Brennan Miller (last at Harvest Seasonal Grill) and brewmaster Tim Caron (last at Tuckahoe Brewing in Egg Harbor Township) have Philly-area roots.

Miller's scratch kitchen will use local purveyors. Here's the menu, which includes snacks, appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and plates; top freight is $19 for dry-aged hanger steak served with smashed red potatoes, roasted beets, and carrots, and béarnaise butter.

Bar setup will include 28 draft lines and two cask engines. Goose Island promises a full complement of all its beers (including ones never seen outside of Chicago before), and one-of-a-kind draft-only beers made by Caron.

Brewhouse and kitchen hours will be 4 to 11 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 4 p.m. to midnight Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday.  It will open for lunch over the summer.

Some renderings until I can tour the place.
