The high stoner holiday, 4/20, is upon us.

A part of cannabis culture for decades now, the number 420 first became associated with marijuana in the 1970s thanks to a group of California stoners known as the Waldos who would meet outside their school to smoke at 4:20 p.m, the Huffington Post reports.

According to columnist Chris Goldstein, the 420 association grew from there, and was popularized in the 1990s by former High Times editor Steve Bloom, who found out about the term in 1990 at a Grateful Dead show via a flyer, and published an article about 420 in the magazine in 1991.

Bloom told Goldstein in 2013 that the first April 20 marijuana celebrations began with marijuana activist and dispensary owner Debby Goldsberry, who did 4/20 events in the Berkeley, Calif. area in the 1990s. Now, with marijuana recreationally or medically legal in more than half of the United States, millions of Americans celebrate 4/20 by smoking cannabis.

And Philadelphia, where marijuana possession is decriminalized up to 30 grams, is no different. So, with that in mind, we've rounded up seven 4/20-themed events in the area to properly celebrate the holiday. Scoring your own party supplies, however, is up to you.

BIG NEWS! This year on 4/20 Weeding Out The Stoned - the game show of sobriety tests - is holding TWO SHOWS at Good Good...

Posted by Weeding Out The Stoned on Wednesday, April 5, 2017

Sixteen comedians will enter. And 16 comedians will leave. But all of them except one will be stoned the whole time, and its up to everyone else to figure out who the narc is. Field sobriety tests, trivia, and testimony will help audience members and panelists with their decision across two shows in honor of 4/20 this year.

8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Thursday, Good Good Comedy Theatre, 215 N. 11th St., $15,

The National Liberty Museum is touting this as the first glass smoking pipe show in a museum setting, so taking in a watershed weed exhibit on the biggest weed holiday of the year seems only appropriate. With art from major pipe makers like Banjo, Marble Slinger, Germ, and Robert Mickelsen, this one will have you wondering, "People can smoke out of that?"

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut St., $7,

What's 4/20 without the munchies? The Irish Pōl took that question seriously this year, and came up with a 10-item menu made specially just for Weed Day. Think buffalo chicken ramen, gordita crunch wraps, and tatchos, a stoney version of nachos using tater tots. Our eyes, however, are on the birthday cake pierogi (pictured above), complete with fun-fetti dough and buttercream icing filling.

5 p.m. to 12 a.m. Thursday, The Irish Pōl, 114 Market St.,
