The last long weekend of the summer is coming, but why wait until Friday at 5 p.m. to start the festivities? Urban Saloon in Fairmount is kicking off the Labor Day Weekend on Thursday, Aug. 28 with a street festival. Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., as part of the Made in America festivities, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be stopping by the saloon for a visit. Come meet these gentle beasts and enjoy $3.50 beer specials and plenty of entertainment. The Eagles game will be on big screens both inside and outside.

Clydesdales are draft horses originating in Scotland that are known now primarily as show horses or used to pull fancy carriages. Their height and the unique "feathering" around the hooves make these gentle beasts a sight to see. The Budweiser Clydesdales travel the country 10 months of the year visiting different events, pulling a early 1900s beer wagon. Although you won't be able to ride in the wagon, you will be able to get up close to the horses. Keep your eyes out for their riding companions, the dalmatians, as well.

Other family fun activities include a DJ and a PAWS adoption tent, where there will be some furry friends looking to be adopted. For all you fashionistas, you can even shop for glam fall fashions from the Smak Parlour Fashion Truck. Alex's Lemonade Stand will also be there and as a thank you for donations to fight childhood cancer, they will be giving out cotton candy to the first 175 kids.

If you are in a competitive mood and still looking for a way into the Made In America festival, then don't miss the Philadelphia Cornhole League tournament, where you will have the chance to win cash and ticket prizes. Register here if you are interested in participating in this tournament.

Summer might be waning, but that doesn't mean the fun has to, right?
