The councils offer information on the closest meeting of Gamblers Anonymous or GAMANON for relatives of gamblers, nearby clinical counselors, and information on gambling problems.

Pennsylvania taxpayers

Seniors' rebate: The deadline is Dec. 31 for low-income people 65 and older, widows or widowers older than 50, and people with disabilities 18 and older to apply for a tax rebate under the Extended Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program for Seniors. The state says about 30,000 eligible people in the five-county Philadelphia region have not applied for the rebates.

Property-tax rebate: By Dec. 31, school districts must send each residential-property owner forms to apply for a tax rebate. The forms must be returned.
