Gasoline prices continued their upward trend in southeastern Pennsylvania overnight, but held steady in South Jersey and for the nation as a whole, AAA Mid-Atlantic said today.

The average Philadelphia price at the pump for a gallon of regular was up a penny this morning, to $2.73. It stood at $2.53 in South Jersey, and at $2.69 for the U.S., the auto club said.

Tomorrow will mark the day a year ago that gasoline hit an average $4.16 in southeastern Pennsylvania. It has risen $1.05 since Jan. 1.    - Inquirer Staff
