Villanova displays painting that honors young victims at Sandy Hook shooting
RADNOR TOWNSHIP - In the year since the tragic shootings at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., artist Chuck Connelly created the 10-by-12-foot painting Children of Sandy Hook in remembrance of the 20 young students killed Dec. 14, 2012, along with six teachers, by a shooter who then committed suicide.

The painting - a series of 20 portraits - will be on display through Monday at Villanova University's Connelly Center. An artist's reception will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in the gallery.
His work can be seen at many major museums, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Connelly - the subject of an HBO documentary, The Art of Failure: Chuck Connelly Not for Sale - was born in Pittsburgh and attended the Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia.
