* Bon Appétit magazine's September issue includes MidAtlantic Restaurant & Tap Room (3711 Market St., 215-386-3711) in a roundup of the seven best daily specials on restaurant menus around the country. * Charlie Brown's Steakhouse (www.charliebrowns.com) this month announced that it's the first multi-unit restaurant to partner with Jersey Fresh, the New Jersey Department of Agriculture program, to spotlight fruits and vegetables grown in New Jersey. Jersey Fresh produce sourced from Barsuglia Farms, Cassaday Farms, Ed Wuillermin & Sons Farms, Glossy Farms and Maugeri Farms is featured on the Unlimited Farmer's Market Salad Bar and in select menu items at the 35 Charlie Brown's Steakhouses in New Jersey.

* Xochitl (408 S. 2nd St., 215-238-7280), has a new, $23 three-course menu from Chef Lucio Palazzo. El Sabor ("The Flavor") starts with fresh Guacamole for the table, followed by a choice of Antojitos (appetizer) and choice of Taco. The Antojitos include empanadas with sweet corn, chanterelle mushrooms, jack cheese and mulato salsa; and Chiccarones, house-fried pork rinds with radish, mint and salsa verde.

Tacos include Mar y Tierra, ancho-marinated veal tongue, tuna confit, tomato-parsley pico de gallo and fried capers; and Calabacitas, summer squash with blossoms, mole verde, Swiss chard and pickled fennel. Add a ceviche for $9 a person or a dessert for $5. Daily happy hour from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. features $5 margaritas. There's a late-night happy hour from 10 p.m. to midnight Thursday through Saturday. The entire menu is half off Thursdays, 10 p.m. to midnight.
