Friends of CHOP were in the house 700 strong Feb. 28 at the Valley Forge Casino Resort near King of Prussia for the annual Cheers for CHOP fund-raiser in support of the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Guests enjoyed cocktails and a chance to bid on silent and live auction items, and were treated to a live performance from hot hip-hop duo Salt-N-Pepa. The nearly $675,000 raised in the celebration for a cause will benefit CHOP's Child Life, Education, and Creative Arts Therapy program, one of the first in the country to recognize the therapeutic value of play for hospitalized children. Child Life helps children of all ages and their families cope with illnesses, injury, treatment, and their overall health-care experience.
