FORMER FLYERS tough guy Mike Bullard made a dream come true, according to Adam F. Goldberg, creator of ABC's "The Goldbergs," the sitcom starring Jeff Garlin and George Segal.

It was Jenkintown-raised Goldberg's dream to have a Flyers jersey when he was a kid, but his mom (portrayed on the show by Wendi McLendon-Covey of "Bridesmaids") said they were too expensive, then relented for her son's birthday.

"My favorite player was Mike Bullard. I always liked the thuggy guy, and he had such a cool mustache. He wasn't the star of the team, but he was just awesome all-around. I always liked the badasses," Goldberg said. "I wanted to get it lettered, but my mom said it was too expensive. She's like, 'I've got a letter guy.' So, it's time for me to go to the game, and my mom hands me the jersey that are lettered with ironed-on black, individual felt letters that weren't even in the right place."

The young Goldberg refused to wear the jersey, but his father (portrayed by Garlin from "Curb Your Enthusiasm") had other plans. "I had to wear this jersey to the games for three years," he said.

When the Flyers asked Goldberg if he'd like a jersey, after noticing all the logo exposure the show was giving the team, Goldberg immediately chose Bullard, who sent him a signed Flyers sweater, finally allowing Goldberg to realize his dream.

Goldberg teases that the second half of "The Goldbergs" premiere season will feature an episode inspired by his time at Old York Road Skating Club, and another inspired by the classic kids adventure flick "The Goonies."

'Nail'-ed it

Philly-born, South Jersey-raised actress and director Lisa Regina wants to bring her next film, "Shooter's Nail," to shoot in the Philly area. The anti-bullying movie, inspired by wheelchair basketball player/"Big Brother" victor Eddie McGee, will star Eric Roberts, Oscar nominee Cathy Moriarty and "Boardwalk Empire"/"Oz" star Robert Clohessy. Regina told me she wants to get sportscaster Lou Tilley and some of the Sixers involved with the basketball-themed movie as well.

To help raise cash, Regina will film a teaser video at Runnemede's Triton Regional High School tomorrow with the help of students and community members. The projected start date of "Shooter's Nail" is fall 2014.

Reality check

Rob and Remy Maaddi, the Philly-based stars of "Bridezillas" and "Marriage Boot Camp," will collect toys for Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at 8 p.m. tomorrow at Public House (2 Logan Square). Rob, an Associated Press sports reporter by day, told me that he expects several Eagles players to show up (apparently, their wives are fans of the reality couple).

So, what's the deal with their rumored reality gig?

"We definitely didn't realize when we signed on to do the 'Remy & Rob' show how incredibly time-consuming filming a full season would be, and the twins made it impossible to start right away. Being great parents to our little angels is our No. 1 priority, but we're hoping to figure something out soon," Rob said.

He promised that a show announcement will come in the new year, along with an update from the other "Marriage Boot Camp" participants.

* In other toy-drive news, the Camden Riversharks are teaming up with Gary Barbera to give local kids a happy holiday. Through Jan. 3, you can donate unused, unwrapped toys at Campbell's Field (401 N. Delaware Ave., Camden), Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All toys benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Camden County.
