Lucia Fest

St. Luke Lutheran Church in Devon welcomes the community to its annual candlelight service for the 28th year. The traditional Swedish celebration every Dec. 13 commemorates an early Christian martyr, Saint Lucia. Every year, the celebration includes a young female who serves as the Lucia and honors the sacrifice by wearing a crown of candles on her head and serving the congregation bread and coffee. This year's Lucia is Conestoga High School senior Amy Bernier. The event also features Swedish songs, music, food, and little "tomtes," which are the community's youngest members who dress up like elves and sing Swedish songs. Call 610-688-0122.
