Driver sought in hit-run death in Mount Airy

POLICE are asking the public's help in identifying the hit-and-run driver who killed an elderly pedestrian as she crossed a Mount Airy street Thursday night.

The accident occurred at 6:10 p.m. at Murdoch Street and Stenton Avenue, said police Capt. John Wilczynski.

Annie McManus, 84, who lived nearby on Murdoch Street, was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where she died of multiple injuries at 10:40 p.m., Wilczynski said.
