Motorist ambushed, killed while driving down S. Philly street

The man, 46, was shot 14 times in the head and upper body and later died at HUP

A SHOOTING in Point Breeze left one man dead last night, police said.

Just before 6 p.m., officers responding to reports of a shooting on Cleveland Street near Dickinson found the victim, 46, shot at least 14 times in his head and upper body, police said.

He had been driving at the time of the attack, police said, his car slamming into a house on the block.

Medics took the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he was pronounced dead minutes later.

There was no information available on the shooter or the motive, police said.
