Body found in South Jersey linked to missing Olney woman

Olney man charged after missing woman's car is tracked to a hotel, where her body is found in the trunk.

A FEW CANDLES sat on the front porch of an empty home in Olney last night and the few people who passed by didn't seem to notice them.

A Philadelphia police cruiser sat on the corner there, by Wellens Avenue and A Street, and three dogs barked away in the home's front yard. On Sunday, police were dispatched to the home for a missing person's report for a 38-year old woman who lived there and learned she drove a 2014 Chevy equipped with On-Star.

When authorities tracked the car to a Quality Inn on Route 38 in Maple Shade, Burlington County, they found a woman's body in the trunk. Investigators in Burlington County still have not positively identified the remains or determined a cause of death, but Jesus Garcia, the man they arrested for allegedly "concealing remains," also lives at the Wellens Avenue home.

Property records show the home belongs to a Maria Santiago.

Garcia, 41, is being held in lieu of $150,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in Burlington County Superior Court today. He was in possession of the vehicle, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, when investigators tracked it to the hotel about 12 miles away at 9:45 p.m. Sunday.
