When the Soul visits Chicago on Monday night, Clint Stoerner will be the starting quarterback.

Maybe.

Coach Bret Munsey declined to anoint a starter at the most important spot in Arena Football. The position has been in flux since Tony Graziani separated his shoulder against Dallas on April 16.

Stoerner joined the Soul last Friday and had only two practices before playing in a dismal, 44-21 loss at Columbus. Youngster Juston Wood, who relieved Graziani in the loss to Dallas, also is being considered to start.

"I'm going to let them battle it out the next few days," Munsey said yesterday. "I'm going to let 'em compete."

Graziani is on injured reserve and is out at least another three games. *
